The Princess of Wales may be royalty, but that doesn't mean she's always decked out in tiaras and ball gowns; she's known for adding an elevated edge to everyday looks, too. Take her latest outfit, when she stepped out in a royal blue suit for a visit to the V&A East Storehouse.
For the event, Kate dressed down her tailored look with a plain white tee. The centrepiece of her look was her chunky chain necklace - a perfect example of how to raise your day-dressing game.
Kate's exact necklace is the Portrait Necklace by Laura Lombardi, currently on sale for £142. The necklace is a combination of interlocking round and oval links with an oversized toggle clasp. Kate wears the toggle at the back for a smoother look, but the fastening could also be worn in the centre for a statement alternative. The chain comes in either 14kt gold plated brass (as worn by the Princess of Wales), or platinum plated brass, with different lengths available.
There are also plenty of similar pieces available on the high street with a more affordable price tag. This Boden version is one of our favourites - and a great price, at £46:
Meanwhile, Orelia's version is a complete steal at just £28, reduced from £40. We love the textured links, which take the design up a notch:
Add a co-ordinating bracelet like this one from Abbott Lyon to create a stylish chunky pairing:
