The 1o-part series introduces us to workaholic Jessica (Megan Stalter), who moves from New York to London after a devastating break up. However, when she arrives in London, she realises that the city is very different to the idea she had in her head - formed by watching films like Notting Hill. Her experience was actually inspired by Lena's own time spent in the city.

What to read next

“When I first started coming to the UK for work … I thought to myself, ‘I want to write something about the experience of being a foreigner here, and the fantasies we have of [London] versus the realities,’” Dunham has said. She describes the show as "a romantic comedy that makes us root for love, brings joy but also has the jagged edges of life."

What Jessica doesn't expect to find is a love match in very laidback musician known as Felix (The White Lotus’ Will Sharpe). When work-obsessed Jessica and "sleep-until-noon" Felix meet, their lives take a new direction and their journey together unfolds over 10 episodes. Lena co-created the series with her real-life husband, Luis Felber, who's also a musician. The personal inspiration is part of why Netflix promises the series feels "so grounded.
