Happy Valley fans, take note! Former star Siobhan Finneran has an exciting new role in Netflix’s dangerously addictive new psychological drama, Out of the Dust. The upcoming series will take us into the murky world of a religious cult – and one woman’s quest to escape it.
The woman in question is Rosie (Molly Windsor), a devoted wife and mother who has a fateful encounter with escaped convict, Sam (Fra Fee), which propels her towards freedom. But is it really freedom – or is she heading towards something more dangerous?
Ahead of the show’s arrival on our screens, here’s everything we know so far, including the plot, cast and release date…
What is Out of the Dust about?
The six-part series will take us behind the "closed" doors of a fictional conservative religious sect. It follows Rosie (Molly Windsor), a dutiful wife and mother who lives in a cloistered Christian community with her husband, Adam (Asa Butterfield), and their daughter.
According to the official synopsis: “The fateful arrival of the mysterious Sam (Fra Fee), an escaped prisoner, reveals the reality and restraints of Rosie’s world. Perhaps her hidden religious community doesn’t have her best interests at heart.
"As the cracks begin to appear in Rosie and Adam’s marriage, Sam presents as Rosie’s saviour. But with his dark criminal past, where does the greatest danger lie — with the cult, or with Sam?"
We also know that we’ll be introduced to Mr and Mrs Phillips (played by Christopher Eccleston and Siobhan Finneran) at some point along the way – but at this stage, we don’t know exactly who they are. Could they be Rosie’s parents, or could they be part of the cult-like community she’s found herself in?
It’s safe to say we can expect a true rollercoaster as we follow Rosie on a journey of female emancipation and sexual awakening. But the question is: where exactly will Rosie’s journey take her? We’ll have to tune in to find out.

Compromised by an illicit affair with a colleague, the high-stakes series followed Nyles as she set about finding out who was putting her unit - and her family - in danger.
