Rose Ayling-Ellis stars as a lip-reading crime-solver in ITV’s clever new series Code of Silence, and it's set to be a ground-breaking emotional thriller.

The exciting new crime drama was created by Catherine Moulton who drew on her own experience with hearing loss and lip-reading. The show is also enriched by a diverse cast and crew from the Deaf as well as disabled and neurodiverse communities.

What is Code of Silence about?

Rose plays Alison Brooks, a deaf woman who's spent years working in a police canteen secretly lip-reading conversations. Then, her world is turned on its head when she's enlisted to use her skills to help surveil a gang who are plotting a dangerous heist. DS Ashleigh Francis and DI James Marsh recruit Alison for the covert operation and she quickly becomes crucial to solving the case.

"Alison is thrust into an exhilarating and perilous new world," explains the ITV synopsis. "But everything grows more complicated when she finds herself drawn to suspect Liam Bayne (Kieron Moore). Despite the escalating risks and threats to her personal life, Alison refuses to walk away."
