Selma Blair’s dog Scout is the best Oscars after-party date we’ve seen – and apparently other A listers agree

While Hollywood awards nights are the perfect moment for stars to debut their new beau or share a headline-worthy couple moment, we have to say that Selma Blair’s four-legged date is the best Oscars after-party date we’ve seen so far - and A listers were queuing up to meet him.

Selma walked the Vanity Fair after-party red carpet in a stunning, strapless sequin gown. The black dress featured a dual row of white flower detailing along the top of the bodice, and Selma accessorised with a delicate single strand of diamonds around her neck. She also continued the sparkle with glittering court shoe heels by American designer Betsey Johnson.

Arriving alongside her for the event was our favourite guest of the night; her service dog Scout. The glossy golden pooch stopped to pose with Selma for the paparazzi before heading into the party, much to the joy of the other guests.

Backstage snaps reveal Scout receiving plenty of attention from excited stars, including Chrissy Teigen and Patricia Clarkson who lay on the floor to play with Selma's doggy date.

Laverne Cox couldn't resist stopping for a stroke as she chatted with Selma inside the event, and Justin Theroux had a good cuddle while Selma took some snaps of her own on her phone.

Designer Zac Posen also stopped to say hello, while Scout posed with actors Danielle Brooks and Alphonse Nicholson.

In 2018, Selma went public with her multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis, an auto-immune disease which affects the central nervous system. At the end of last year, Selma revealed she was doing much better after serious struggles with her health.

“I had felt so weak and all the fogs and the movement really made it impossible to go out at night,” she said, via Variety. "I started feeling really better this last year and I’m back at work and doing things so I will have things to announce."
