Caitlin Moran has revealed the details of her forthcoming book, which she’s actually putting the finishing touches to this weekend.

Talking at GH Live with Country Living Christmas Market, Good Housekeeping’s festival of food, home and celebrity talks, she revealed: "Today I finish my next book!"

She also told the audience about the inspiration behind the new novel. And it sounds a little bit like Stepford Wives, but with men. We can’t wait.

What to read next

“I’m of the age now where a lot of my friends are getting divorced and going on dates again and they are coming back saying ‘there are no good men out there’,” she said. “'It’s a class one, denuded landscape. The good men are being held onto by their wives. There is nothing good coming back on the market.'”

Caitlin, who was speaking at GH Live about her most recent book, Men, which was published last year gave some hints about the new book’s plot.

“I was talking to my friends saying, it’s so unfair, as women we can do anything with our lives, make anything happen, buy anything we want – the one thing we can’t do is make men,” she said. “I’m going to write a book about women who make perfect men. They are women who work in tech and it’s 10 years in the future and they start making perfect robot husbands. What would that be like? Would that go wrong? It goes wrong.”
