Davina McCall is to undergo brain surgery to remove a rare brain tumour.
The star revealed the news in a video recorded for her Instagram account, which was posted on Friday morning.
She told followers she has a benign brain tumour called a colloid cyst – which is “three in a million”.
The tumour was spotted when Davina went for a scan after doing a talk about the menopause. She initially believed she would ‘ace’ the check-up, but a cyst, around 14mm in size, was discovered.
“I slightly put my head in the sand,” she said. “And then I saw quite a few neurosurgeons. I got lots of opinions and I realised I have to get it taken out.”
She added: “It’s big for the space… If it grows, it would be bad.”
Davina said she is set to undergo a craniotomy and added, “Say a prayer for me. I am in good spirits.”
She was supported by her partner, Michael Douglas, who said the star would be “off grid” while she recovers, adding: “She is in great shape and in very good hands.”
Get well soon, Davina!
