Praising Fred's talent, Steve said the young clockmaker is doing "very, very well", calling him an "actual natural".

"Look who's back at @therepairshoptv! My son and apprentice, @fredfletcher.clocks has his own item to repair this time, and he's doing a brilliant job with it," Steve captioned the video, adding he's "Very proud!" of Fred.

The news of Fred joining The Repair Shop and flying solo to work on an item in need of some TLC has delighted viewers, with many taking to the comments section to congratulate the father-son duo.

"Wonderful! So great to know the skills are being taken up by the next generation," one person wrote, while another celebrated Steve's teaching skills, noting: "Of course he's doing very well, he's been trained by the best!"

"Nothing like sharing your craft with your kids, love this," another fan of the show offered.

Meanwhile, the beloved BBC show will take the repairing business on the road with a new spinoff titled The Repair Shop on the Road. Announced in June, the series will see the team hit the road to restore people's treasures to their former glory.

In May, it was reported that host Jay Blades would take a break from the main show, with filming on the next season set to start without him.

The Repair Shop airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
