Hot on the heels of BBC One's announcement that a series adaptation of Agatha Christie's Towards Zero is underway, Netflix has announced that they too are digging into the writer's archives for a series adaptation of their own.

Penned by Broadchurch creator and Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall comes a fast-paced and witty drama adaptation of Christie's The Seven Dials Mystery. Excitingly, it looks set to be led by a stellar cast of British actors, with none other than Helena Bonham-Carter in the role of Lady Caterham.

The Harry Potter and The Crown actress will be joined by Martin Freeman (The Responder), who will take on the role of Battle, and the cast will be led by Mia McKenna-Bruce, who won this year's BAFTA Rising Star award following her turn in How To Have Sex.

What to read next

If you're a stranger to this particular murder mystery story of Christie's, it's set in England in 1925, at a lavish country house party where 'a practical joke appears to have gone horribly, murderously wrong.' It's up to the ever-inquisitive and determined Lady Eileen 'Bundle' Brent (McKenna-Bruce) to step up as sleuth and unravel the chilling mystery that is afoot.

Filming begins this summer, with no release date announced just yet.
