She's the epitome of cool, having led the Supremes, which in turn made her a poster girl of glamorous fashion throughout the 60s and 70s. Yet, even six decades on from the heyday of Motown, singer Diana Ross continues to influence culture and style.
On Wednesday (7 February), Fearne Cotton nodded to Diana Ross as she dressed in sequins and gold. Fearne revealed that the inspiration behind her ode to 70s style came after watching old footage of the singer.
To recreate Diana's glamorous sequinned look, Fearne picked out a gold top which was chosen for her 20 years ago, by no other than Claudia Winkleman's stylist, Sinead McKeefry (A.K.A. the mastermind behind Claudia's infamous wardrobe on The Traitors).
"Last night I watched some old footage of Diana Ross who was wearing a sequin top and sequin shoes. I've subsequently been influenced to try and recreate such a look. I could never look as phenom as Diana but I'm enjoying the vibe," Fearne wrote on Instagram.
"I often use clothes as a pick me up. If I'm feeling drab I will pick out bright colours or dig out something I've not worn in ages.
"I have had this top for nearly twenty years. @sineadmckeefry picked it out when we were working together on Love Island which I hosted in my early twenties. I love to mix the old, the new, the second hand and the forgotten at the back of the wardrobe."
We love Fearne's fashion manifesto - blending old and new never goes out of style.
To recreate a similar look, opt for the Gold Rush Long Sleeve top from Free People, complete with an allover sequin embellished design.
