Death in Paradise series 13 spoilers follow.

Death in Paradise will return to BBC One next month with a 100th-episode mystery storyline and guest stars from EastEnders, You, Ghosts and Coronation Street.

Following a teaser arriving earlier this week, BBC One has now confirmed that the detective series will be back on Sunday, February 4 with the show's 100th episode.

What to read next

This landmark instalment will include a special reference to the early days of Death in Paradise, with former Grange Hill star Sean Maguire reprising his DiP guest role as Marlon Collins from the very first episode.

Death in Paradise always has a deadly case to solve – this 100th episode will revolve around Commissioner Selwyn Patterson being shot by an unknown assassin during a celebration for his 50 years in policing.

Also appearing in this milestone episode will be Leon Herbert (Ghosts), Cathy Tyson (Emmerdale) and Mensah Bediako (Andor). Selwyn's daughter Andrina will also return, played by Champion star Genesis Lynea.

Throughout the rest of the series, Neville Parker faces a massive decision about his future while Catherine Bordey gets embroiled in a murder case where an old friend is the suspect.

Viewers can expect Marlon Pryce to make his own life-changing decision, whereas Naomi Thomas hits the Saint Marie nightlife on a double date with Darlene Curtis.

There will be plenty more guest stars along the way as well, including Kate Robbins (EastEnders), Ellie Haddington (Motherland), Pearce Quigley (Detectorists), Ronni Ancona (Last Tango in Halifax), Kevin Garry (Ted Lasso) and Academy Award winner Hayley Mills.

Former Coronation Street star Gabrielle Glaister, Hollyoaks favourite Rachel Adedeji, Emma Naomi (Bridgerton), Holby City's Guy Henry, Sandman's Richard Fleeshman and Ben Wiggins (You) are confirmed to be guest staring in series 13 of Death in Paradise, among others.

Death in Paradise's recent Christmas special teased some huge twists and turns ahead, as Neville contemplated his next steps after being betrayed by his girlfriend Sophie.

In addition to the main show, the BBC has confirmed that Beyond Paradise will be returning soon and a new spin-off is in the works, to be set in Australia.

Death in Paradise and its spin-off, Beyond Paradise, air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
