Noughties trends are making their way into 2024, with retro Y2K fashion popular amongst Gen Z (think skirts over jeans and baguette bags) and beauty trends (including glossy lips and plucked eyebrows) returning to the fore.

Unconvinced by this serving of nostalgia? For an accurate measure of what's à la mode, look no further than Paris Fashion Week, where you can take the temperature of the fashion scene, simply by observing the attendees.

Seen stepping out from Schiaparelli’s spring/summer 2024 haute couture show in Paris on Monday morning was Jennifer Lopez, who has given her signature brunette mid-length waves the chop in favour of a retro 'do.

Enter: the noughties-inspired bob.

Veiled beneath a blanket of styling product, J-Lo's razor-sharp bob perfectly adheres to the infamous noughties vernacular, with its face-framing tendrils.

Using her haircut to transport us back in time is perhaps fitting for J-Lo, who became famous for her acting roles in hit romcoms and her takeover of the pop charts in the noughties.

J-Lo is no stranger to giving the past a modern-day revamp.

Her now-infamous Green Versace silk chiffon dress debuted at the 2000 Grammy Awards ceremony, before she re-wore it on the catwalk in 2020.

And as for her relationship with actor Ben Affleck, after calling time on their two-year engagement in 2004, the pair reunited in 2021 before tying the knot last year.

Ben will be making a cameo in J-Lo's much-anticipated upcoming film, This Is Me...Now: A Love Story, which is inspired by her upcoming album, This Is Me...Now (the long-awaited follow-up to 2002’s This Is Me...Then).
