A new trailer for season two of FX anthology series Feud has been released.
It’s been almost seven years since the first miniseries, Feud: Bette and Joan, and now fans have been treated to a first look at American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy’s next tale of a famous rivalry.
Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans is an adaptation of Laurence Leamer’s book Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era.
The eight-episode limited series follows the feud between author Truman Capote, played by Tom Hollander, and several of his female friends after he backstabs them in his writing.
Feud’s exciting new trailer teases drama, glamour, and intrigue, with the group of women introduced as "the original housewives".
The synopsis reads: "Acclaimed writer Truman Capote (Hollander) surrounded himself with a coterie of society’s most elite women – rich, glamorous socialites who defined a bygone era of high society New York – whom he nicknamed ‘the swans’.
"Enchanted and captivated by these doyennes, Capote ingratiated himself into their lives, befriending them and becoming their confidant, only to ultimately betray them by writing a thinly veiled fictionalisation of their lives, exposing their most intimate secrets.
"When an excerpt from the book, Answered Prayers, Capote’s planned magnum opus, was published in Esquire, it effectively destroyed his relationship with his swans, banished him from the high society he so loved and sent him into a spiral of self-destruction from which he would ultimately never recover.”
Joining Hollander in the star-studded cast are Demi Moore, Molly Ringwald, Joe Mantello, Russell Tovey, Naomi Watts, Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny and Calista Flockhart, alongside Treat Williams in his final role after he passed away last year.
Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans starts on Wednesday, January 31 on FX in the US, with weekly episodes available the next day on Hulu.
