Strictly Come Dancing star Krishnan Guru-Murthy is switching dance partners for the upcoming live tour.
Announcing as much over on X (formerly Twitter) yesterday, the Channel 4 news presenter informed his followers: "Yes, I'm doing the tour! It's going to be such a laugh on the road with this lot in the new year.
"Lauren [Oakley] was already committed to touring with Giovanni [Pernice] so I'm delighted to be dancing with the amazing Jowita! [Przystał] #strictly."
During the current series of Strictly, Krishnan and Lauren became the seventh eliminated pairing after a dance-off against Angela Rippon, who herself left the competition in the Blackpool round.
While addressing their exit, Krishnan showered his professional partner with compliments.
"That's all folks. Heartbroken. Thanks for the love and support – I'm so delighted that so many people enjoyed watching us," wrote Guru-Murthy. "[Oakley] taught me with patience and trust, boosted me when I doubted, picked me up when I crumbled.
"If you want to understand the kind of person she is: when dance performance shut down during the pandemic Lauren worked in a care home, she dreams of running an animal sanctuary and she's so fun she really ought to be presenting children's (and family) television.
"When we met she said she had one aim: to make me love dance. She succeeded in week one. And somehow we made it to week eight."
The Strictly live tour runs throughout January and February 2024, kicking things off at Birmingham's Utilita Arena before closing the curtain at London's The O2.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
