Imelda Staunton and Jim Carter attend red carpet event as a couple

Imelda Staunton and Jim Carter attended a film premiere together in London on Tuesday (28 November)

The couple have been married for more than 40 years and it appears they still enjoy spending time with one another, as they walked the red carpet together at the event. The pair were attending the world premiere of the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory prequel, Wonka.

Imelda and Jim looked sharp in co-ordinating looks, each wearing a smart suit jacket or coat over a black shirt. Jim opted for an open collar shirt without a tie for a more relaxed look, while Imelda chose a single breasted coat in a deep shade of bottle-green. She accessorised her outfit with a pair of simple gold hoops.

Also in attendance of the premiere as a couple were Olivia Colman and her husband Ed Sinclair.

While at the event, Olivia unveiled a surprise hair transformation, modelling a platinum blonde pixie crop for the occasion. She had styled her new cut into a 1920s-inspired side part with a soft wave, evoking classic, old Hollywood style.

The star-studded event took place at the Royal Albert Hall in London and saw a whole host of other famous faces also grace the red carpet. This included the film's leading man, Timothee Chalamet, who wore a pink velvet suit for the occasion. The actor plays the title role of a young Willy Wonka, while Hugh Grant stars as an Oompa-Loompa.

Wonka will be released in cinemas in the UK on 8 December.
