Sarah Jessica Parker steps out in a beautiful white coat

Just like her iconic fictional character, Carrie Bradshaw, actress Sarah Jessica Parker is the epitome of style.

So, it's rare then, that an event passes by without SJP's outfit details being noted. And last night (Wednesday 18 October) was no exception.

While attending the Good+Foundation's A Very Good+ Night of Comedy benefit at Carnegie Hall in New York, SJP looked effortlessly stylish.

The star - best known for playing the infamous Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and The City as well as And Just Like That - wore a punchy red dress, which she paired with pink heels and topped with a double breasted white coat.

Her finishing touches included silver earrings and a silver bag, which matched the sparkling button detailing on her coat.

The actress - who will soon be performing alongside real-life husband, Matthew Broderick in their West End debut - recently spoke about her thoughts on fashion in an interview with British Vogue.

"It’s about the choices we make everyday and it’s what makes you feel like you. I think you become more courageous in those choices with age," she said.

She also added that it takes a long time to learn your unique style, but "one day you’ll do something that just sticks, like mismatched heels. It’s a small gesture that will make everyone think, “Yep, that’s her”."

SJP went on to reveal that she takes inspiration from street-style: "You see all these people and you might just want to take something from what they’re wearing."
