Princess Anne attended the Scotland vs Ireland match as part of the Rugby World Cup on Saturday (7 October), which is currently taking place in Paris.
The Princess Royal was spotted enjoying the match at the Stade de France, wearing a tartan scarf over her coat as a nod to the Scottish team. Princess Anne has been a patron of Scottish Rugby Union for nearly four decades, and was on hand to cheer the players along during the game.
In the end, it was Ireland who were the victors of the match, beating Scotland to qualify for the quarter-finals with a score of 36-14.
Photographs of the match and Princess Anne's attendance were shared to the Royal Family's official social media accounts. The post also included a clip of the Princess speaking on a rugby podcast last month, alongside her son-in-law, Mike Tindall.
The Princess Royal joined the former rugby player and husband of her daughter Zara Tindall, on the podcast, The Good, The Bad & The Rugby. Also sitting alongside her for the episode were the Prince and Princess of Wales.
In the clip, Princess Anne recalls receiving a letter asking her to become patron and how her support has continued for the past 37 years.
A caption alongside the clip in the post explains people can, "Listen to HRH talk about her longstanding love of the sport and how she became Patron of @ScotlandTeam nearly 40 years ago."
