Strictly Come Dancing star and Paralympian Jody Cundy has revealed that he may have to miss this week's dance due to an infection.

The 12-time Paralympic medallist, who is paired with professional dancer Jowita Przystał, has thus far danced his way through the first two episodes of 2023's season.

However, he has revealed that he may have to miss dancing in episode three, due to an infection in his amputated leg that means he is unable to wear his prosthetic.

Speaking on Strictly recap show It Takes Two on Thursday (October 5), Cundy explained what happened.

"I got home on Tuesday night (after rehearsals), took my leg off, and thought, 'That's quite sore,' but didn't think too much of it, but cleaned it, bathed it, made sure it was all ok."

"But then I got up about four o'clock in the morning, and it was warm, swollen," he continued.

"And I was like, 'That's getting infected, I need to see somebody about it."

Cundy revealed that after a trip to the hospital, he was prescribed antibiotics – but said that this morning his amputated leg wasn't able to fit in his prosthetic.

"It is healing, and it is getting better, but at the moment I'm still not able to get my leg on," he said, before outlining his hopes that he'll still be able to take part in this week's episode – which is the fan-favourite Movie Week.
