Strictly: It Takes Two gave Les Dennis a warm-hearted send-off after he exited Strictly Come Dancing over the weekend.
Les became the first celebrity to leave this year’s series of Strictly, after he was voted out over the other celebrities. He left the show after performing an entertaining dance with professional partner Nancy Xu.
It Takes Two interviewed Les and Nancy as they went over his brief time on Strictly, and learned how he feels having left the show after his “samba ship” dance.
"It was amazing and I loved that Shirley said, 'If I could give you a ten for entertainment, I would.' That’s what I’m there for. I’m not the best dancer clearly. But I did my best and I had a great time," Les said.
Les’ combined week 1 and 2 scores from the judges (31) left him and Nancy at the bottom of the scoreboard but Les said he was blown away by watching the other dancers, exclaiming that the "standard is so high". However, despite getting just a 2 from Craig Revel-Horwood for his last performance, Les said he has no hard feelings.
"That’s what Craig’s job is and I’m fine about it. My son wasn’t so fine: he said him and his friends were going to go down to London and give Craig a piece of their mind. He’s only 12," Les said.
Les and Nancy agreed that while their time on the show was short, they don’t have any regrets because they had a blast together and they know that both of them gave it their all.
"That’s how I felt because when it’s over, it’s over. And you do look back and go 'I should have given that a bit of a better shot.' So I just had fun and I’m sorry [to Nancy] that your journey has ended so early," Les said.
The duo then watched their short-but-sweet Strictly highlights and Nancy said that Les "makes people smile" and how "grateful" she is for their journey together. Meanwhile, the remaining couples will already be preparing for the upcoming Movie Week.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
