The Great British Bake Off spoilers follow.
Monday's (September 26) premiere of The Great British Bake Off series 14 featured a huge Easter egg in a challenge that was sure to delight and upset fans in equal measure.
For the first Technical challenge of the 2023 series, judge Paul Hollywood asked the 12 new bakers to create the cake from the opening credits of the show.
The chocolate fudge cake has become iconic due to its "missing raspberry", which has bothered audiences since the show's inception in 2010.
Tonight, co-host Noel Fielding revealed the truth behind the mystery of the missing raspberry: He's been keeping it in his pocket this whole time (despite having only been a co-host since series 8).
During a hilarious moment, Fielding pulled a jewellery box containing the raspberry out of his pocket, calling it his "pension" and telling the bakers he plans to sell the berry on eBay.
The Technical challenge gave the 12 bakers the chance to rectify the mistake by filling the gap left by the fruit on the legendary cake.
Some bakers, like Dana, went the traditional route and filled the gap with a raspberry. But Rowan chose to respect the original cake and left his raspberry on the side of his creation.
The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show and streams on Netflix.
