Nadiya Hussain, winner of the sixth season of The Great British Bake Off, has revealed why she no longer watches the show.
The Star Baker shared that despite her fond memories in the tent, working as a television presenter has tainted the show for her as a viewer.
"I stopped watching [GBBO] a few years ago," she said (via Metro), before adding that "working in telly ruins the viewing experience. I pick it apart in a way I never used to."
Hussain won The Great British Bake Off back in 2015, when it was judged by Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry, and hosted by Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc.
Since claiming the prestigious title, she has fronted several documentaries including The Chronicles of Nadiya, and cooking series Nadiya's British Food Adventure, and Nadiya's Family Favourites. She is also a regular contributor on The One Show.
Most recently, Hussain announced the six-part BBC series, Nadiya's Simple Spices, which aims to "fuse" the star's British and Bangladeshi heritage together.
The Great British Bake Off has recently revealed its latest cast of 13 hopefuls vying for a Hollywood Handshake (and the coveted title of Star Baker).
The cast includes a delivery driver, a civil engineer, and a PE and science teacher – and they'll be baking under the watchful eye of judges Hollywood and Prue Leith, alongside host Noel Fielding and newcomer to the tent, Alison Hammond.
The next series is set to kick off on September 26.
The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4 in the UK.
