Reese Witherspoon has taken to Instagram to share a cute birthday tribute to her daughter Ava on Sunday (10 September).

The Hollywood actress shared two snaps for her daughter's birthday, which included an adorable throwback of the mother and daughter.

To caption the sweet birthday post, the star also wrote a heartfelt caption to her eldest child about how lucky she is to have her as a daughter and how much she has taught her so far.

The first photo shared was on an up to date photo, which showed the mother and daughter looking glamorous wearing matching strapless dresses.

Whereas in the second photo, Reese rewinds back time with an adorable throwback photo of the mother and daughter cuddling and smiling for the camera.

Fans and friends were quick to comment on the star's cute post, wishing Ava a wonderful birthday including Gwyneth Paltrow commenting: "So sweet. Happy birthday @avaphillippe" and Viola Davis commenting: "Happiest of birthdays."

This isn't the only fun post Reese has shared recently, the actress also posted a star-studded selfie alongside her close friend Nicole Kidman on Sunday (20 August).

The stars' looked happy to be reunited and were captured smiling watching their home team Nashville SC against Inter Miami FC on the Saturday evening.

The Hollywood actresses' have a very close friendship, after working together on the famous Amazon Prime series Big Little Lies.
