Strictly Come Dancing star Helen Skelton has announced that she is leaving BBC Radio 5 Live to spend more time with her children.
Skelton explained to co-host Lloyd Griffith that she was leaving her Sunday morning slot after holding the position for a year as she has found it difficult to juggle the job with her duties as a single mother to her three children.
Griffith grew emotional when they spoke about Skelton leaving before Skelton went into more detail about her exit, as reported by the Daily Mirror.
"I am not alright about it but, you know, needs must. The juggle is real," Skelton said before discussing her son's weekend sports games.
"There is an eight-year-old with a sideline who needs me," she explained. Later, their show came to an end and Skelton added: "I've loved every minute of the past year...thank you to all the team and thank you to all of you. It's hard to know what to say without getting emotional."
However, that isn't it for Skelton. She recently announced an exciting new project coming out soon: her new autobiography In My Stride.
"It's about putting one foot in front of the other and why taking on adventures can help all aspects of your life," Helen announced.
The official synopsis of the book, which releases on October 12, reads: "Helen Skelton is no stranger to doing hard things, from kayaking the entire length of the Amazon to competing in a boxing match for Sports Relief."
"Her ability to dig deep and find the inner strength and to carry on no matter the challenge – physical, mental, or emotional – is nothing short of remarkable."
Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
