Oppenheimer is set to be Christopher Nolan's longest film to date, as the biopic has confirmed its runtime ahead of general release.

The Cillian Murphy-led drama closes in at 180 minutes, meaning it's time to start planning your bathroom breaks when it comes to seeing this one onto the big screen (especially if you're thinking of doing a double bill with Greta Gerwig's Barbie).

The film has also received its age rating in the UK, being deemed not suitable for anyone aged under 15 due to its content.

The Peaky Blinders star features as the titular theoretical physicist J Robert Oppenheimer, known for having helped develop the atomic bomb.

Nolan rounded up a stellar ensemble for the movie, with Marvel's Florence Pugh playing opposite Murphy as psychiatrist and physician Jean Tatlock, who was in a relationship with Oppenheimer.

Oscar winner Rami Malek, Robert Downey Jr, Emily Blunt and Kenneth Branagh also star, together with Josh Hartnett, Casey Affleck, Benny Safdie, Stranger Things' Matthew Modine and The Suicide Squad and Dune's David Dastmalchian.

Murphy recently weighed in on how audiences will feel experiencing the movie, whose plot details have been shrouded in secrecy.

"The question will be how Chris presents it," the film star said.

"I think people will be very surprised and wowed by what he does. Anything I say will just seem a bit lame as compared to seeing this in an IMAX theater."

Oppenheimer, which is based on the book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J Robert Oppenheimer, is set for release on July 21, 2023.
