Amanda Seyfried has opened up about the possibility of a third Mamma Mia movie, saying that there has been "talk" of a new movie to complete the musical trilogy.
Seyfried starred in the first two movies, which are musicals based on the songs of ABBA. Fans have been longing for a third outing since the second flick, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, released in 2018.
Now, Seyfried spoke about Mamma Mia 3 with Radio Times in an interview promoting her new show The Crowded Room.
"There's lots of talk," Seyfried said before jokingly adding: "I just don't think Universal can afford us."
Seyfried was then asked what ABBA song she'd like to sing if a third movie did eventually come to fruition. And Seyfried had her answer already lined up.
"I want to sing Mamma Mia. When Lily got to sing it with the girls, with Jessica and Alexa, I was like 'I feel like there's room in the third for me to get up there.' Some kind of dream sequence where I'm added in," Seyfried said.
"Because I got to sing with the older girls, with the present-day Dynamos, which was beautiful."
This is not the first time a creative involved in the Mamma Mia movies has spoken about a third movie. Previously, Pierce Brosnan said he would be up for Mamma Mia 3, saying: "I'm in, too. Sure. It's criminal how much fun you have on that movie. I think everybody would be in... I'm sure there's some plans."
Meanwhile, Mamma Mia creator Judy Craymer promised that Meryl Streep would be back for the threequel, while producer Ol Parker said that Craymer has always planned for the film series to be a trilogy. Get ready, ABBA fans. Here we go again... again.
