Harrison Ford made a rare appearance on the red carpet in Cannes on Thursday (18 May), with his wife, Calista.
At the 76th Cannes Film Festival, Harrison walked the red carpet before the premiere of his new film, Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny. His wife, actress Calista Flockhart, made an appearance on the red carpet with him.
Said to be his final appearance in the Indiana Jones franchise, it was an emotional evening for Harrison, and Calista looked proud to walk alongside him in France. Wearing classic glamour, Harrison chose a smart black tux and Calista a gorgeous black gown with a tulle skirt, showing off her new brunette locks.
The couple were announced as “Indiana Jones and Calista Flockhart”, whilst cheers of thousands of fans and onlookers praised the Oscar-winning actor.
Harrison was awarded with a surprise award on the night, an honorary Palme d'Or for his legendary career and contributions to film. Presented to him ahead of the screening, Harrison was fêted for his career with a reel of highlights.
“I’m very moved by this,” Ford said. “They say when you’re about to die, you see your life flash before your eyes, and I just saw my life flash before my eyes. A great part of my life, but not all of my life. My life has been enabled by my lovely wife, who has supported my passion and my dreams, and I’m grateful.”
Alongside Harrison, his co-stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Mads Mikkelsen walked the red carpet for the world premiere. Phoebe stunned in a beautiful black fishtail gown, keeping things classic with the rest of the star-studded cast.
