Paddington fans, rejoice. Paddington 3 is well on its way — the movie is set to start filming this July (24). as reported by Deadline.

Paddington In Peru is the third outing in the highly-acclaimed and adorable series of British films starring Ben Whishaw as the eponymous Paddington Bear.

Plot details are currently under wraps, but the third movie will see the action relocated from the red buses and telephone boxes of London to deepest, darkest Peru — Paddington's original home.

The film will be directed by Dougal Wilson, who is perhaps best known for directing a slew of John Lewis Christmas adverts including The Long Wait, The Journey, Monty the Penguin, and Buster the Boxer — which all share the same quintessential British charm found in Paddington.

This news contrasts the recent update Ben Whishaw gave about the film in February, where he said the film was a long way off.

“I haven't read this script and I don't even know when we're due to shoot it. I don't know. I thought it would be happening by now, but I don't know. It's gone silent in the way that sometimes these things do.

"Maybe that just means they're still working on it, or maybe it means it's not happening, or you just don't know."

Thankfully, the film is now full steam-ahead, although eager Paddington fans can lessen the wait by taking part in an upcoming Paddington Bear interactive experience.
