The Princess of Wales channelled Princess Diana's style with her latest look, while supporting the England and Wales rugby teams during the Six Nations game on Saturday (25 February).

The Princess of Wales attended Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, to meet the teams and watch the action alongside Prince William.

For the visit, Kate opted to rewear a classic houndstooth coat in red and white by Catherine Walker, which nodded to the colours of the flags for both England and Wales.

As well as her subtly showing support for both teams, Kate's look notably channelled Princess Diana's style.

The late Princess remains a style icon today and, for the then baby Princess Eugenie's christening in 1990, Princess Diana wore a similar red houndstooth jacket by Moschino.

A fan of rewearing outfits just like the present Princess of Wales, Princess Diana wore the look again the following year for a trip to Toronto.

Similarly, the Cardiff rugby visit was not the first time Kate has been spotted in her red houndstooth coat, as she also wore it for a visit to Stockholm in 2018.

While at the Principality Stadium this weekend, both the Prince and Princess of Wales met with the English and Welsh rugby teams behind the scenes.

Photographs of their visit were shared to the royals' official social media accounts, where Prince William and Kate can be seen chatting and laughing with the players.

"A sneak peek behind the scenes with the Wales and England teams yesterday!" they captioned the post, sharing the message in both English and Welsh.
