The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared inspiring stories from those who attended the Together at Christmas service at Westminster Abbey last week.

The royals said that the event "is all about shining a light on people doing selfless and often life-changing things in their communities," which is why they took to social media to share a snapshot of some of those experiences.

In a tweet, they added, "it was a pleasure to welcome so many to Westminster Abbey last week, and we wanted to tell you a few of their stories."

The first post in the Twitter thread included photographs of Robbie Fletcher and his dad Jamie who were invited to the special service. Robbie raised more than £10,000 in memory of his mum, for the LOROS Hospice.

Another tweet highlighted the work of Sports Key from Birmingham, which helps support "the mental and physical wellbeing of young people" in and around the city.

The final story to be highlighted in the thread, as well as via Instagram stories, was about Hazel Yarlett and her husband. The couple provided a home to a Ukrainian family of seven and "also helped find the children schools and contribute to music and other extra-curricular activities to support them."

The Together at Christmas carol service takes place at Westminster Abbey each year.

This year's event was attended by members of the Royal Family including the Prince and Princess of Wales and their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, as well as the King and Queen Consort, Countess of Wessex and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
