Line of Duty star Stephen Graham confirmed for new BBC series

Stephen Graham's movie Boiling Point is getting a TV adaptation for the BBC.

Revolving around a busy London kitchen, the intense one-shot film received critical acclaim and picked up a number of accolades including four wins at the British Independent Film Awards.

Variety reports that many of the film's cast will reprise their roles for the series, including Graham as Andy, Vinette Robinson as Carly, and Hannah Walters as Emily.

Director Philip Barantini is also returning to helm the first two episodes. James Cummings, who co-wrote the original film with Barantini, is writing the series.

Walters and Graham talked about how the series will still bring the "soul of the film" to the smaller screen, despite confirming that they will not use the one-shot technique for the entirety of the five episodes.

"The incredible reaction to the film, its story and specifically the characters along with the huge desire to know more and delve deeper into their worlds has led us to create a drama series with the BBC in which we will keep the audience gripped, intrigued and involved in each of the characters’ journeys," they said.

"Although we have hung up our feature-length one-shot boots, our audiences can still be excited by extraordinarily lengthy shots and camera techniques that will complement the pure naturalism that was the essence and soul of the film."
