Matilda The Musical has unveiled its trailer and it showcases the first look at some of the original movie's most iconic scenes lovingly recreated.
Based on the popular stage musical, Matilda the Musical features a Tony-nominated original score by the legendary Tim Minchin.
Denis Kelly, who penned the Tony-winning book, wrote the screenplay while Matthew Warchus, who directed the stage production on Broadway, acted as director.
The trailer gives fans a glimpse of Emma Thompson's take on the legendary role of Miss Trunchbull, alongside Lashana Lynch as Miss Honey and Alisha Weir as Matilda.
Some of the original film's most memorable moments feature in the trailer, including Bruce Bogtrotter eating the chocolate cake and Miss Trunchball gripping onto a young girl's pigtails and swinging her around.
Meanwhile, a host of other famous faces are among the star-studded cast. Stephen Graham plays Mr Wormwood, Andrea Riseborough plays Mrs Wormwood, and Sindhu Vee plays Mrs Phelps.
Matilda the Musical recently opened the London Film Festival and went on to garner a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Digital Spy called the movie "a fantastical and exuberant adaptation of the stage show", and added that "it smartly trims down" the plot where necessary.
However, it's been noted that the musical version offers a different take on the children's literary classic.
As a result, the BBC warned in its review that the movie is not for the faint-hearted, claiming it is "only a couple of tweaks away from being the year's most disturbing gothic horror movie".
"Nervous youngsters should probably stick to the book or to Danny DeVito's 1996 film of it. For that matter, so should nervous adults."
Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical is released in the UK on November 25. It premieres on Netflix in the UK next summer and in the US December 25.
