Strictly Come Dancing reveals who's been eliminated after Movie Week

Strictly Come Dancing Movie Week saw Disney princesses, Marvel heroes and film legends all shimmying across the dance floor in the hope of impressing the judges.

And impress some of them did, with Tyler West and Dianne Buswell receiving not one but two 10s, which were the first of this series.

However, no matter how well some couples did, there are always some not-so-great performances, and after Saturday (October 9) night's performances, two couples found themselves in the bottom two.

Richie Anderson and Giovanni Pernice and Fleur East and Vito Coppola ended up in the dreaded dance-off after their routines failed to impress viewers, but ultimately it was Richie and Giovanni's last dance.

Richie said that Strictly was a "magical thing to be part of" and thanked all the "amazing" people he has met during his time on the show.

"Do you know what as a Strictly fan I always thought it was a magical thing to be a part of, and being here it really is and it's not just the people that you see on camera, the judges, and you [Tess Daly] and Claud [Winkleman] and the amazing people that I've got to meet on this show."

He also thanked his dancing partner too for being "amazing", adding: "I feel so lucky that I've got to dance with you every day. Not only are you a fantastic dancer but you are also a fantastic guy on top of that."

Giovanni was then asked if he had any words for Richie, and he said: “I have to say it's been an honour to be able to dance with you because I know how much you love Strictly Come Dancing, you really are a superfan.

"And I'm glad that you got to do this experience and glad that I got to do it with you.

"It's been a shame it's been too short for us but I hope you've enjoyed every single second of it, and it stays in your heart forever."

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One, while spin-off show Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows also stream on BBC iPlayer.
