First look at The Crown's Emma Corrin starring in Lady Chatterley's Lover

The first official look of Netflix’s Lady Chatterley’s Lover, starring The Crown's Emma Corrin and Jack O'Connell, is here.

The latest adaptation of DH Lawrence’s 1928 novel stars Emma Corrin and Skins’ Jack O’Connell, with the film due to be released on the streaming service on December 2.

The first official photos see Corrin as Lady Chatterly and O’Connell as Oliver Mellors, embracing in the countryside.

The film, which is being directed by French filmmaker Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre (The Mustang and The Act), also stars Faye Marsay and Dickinson’s Ella Hunt.

The script is being penned by David Magee, whose credits include Mary Poppins Returns and the upcoming The Little Mermaid.

The logline for the film, which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival last month, reads: “Marrying Sir Clifford Chatterley, Connie’s life of wealth and privilege seems set as she takes the title of Lady Chatterley. Yet this idealistic union gradually becomes an incarceration when Clifford returns from the First World War with injuries that have left him unable to walk.

“When she meets and falls for Oliver Mellors, the gamekeeper on the Chatterley family estate, their secret trysts lead her to a sensual, sexual awakening. Corrin shot to fame for her role on another Netflix production, The Crown, which saw her play Diana, Princess of Wales. For her performance in the fourth season, she won gongs at both the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards.

The fifth season of The Crown will premiere on November 9, with Imelda Staunton, Jonathan Pryce and Lesley Manville being part of the wholesale recasting which occurs every two seasons.

Lady Chatterley’s Lover will be released in select cinemas on 25 November, and on Netflix on 2 December.
