The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in Birmingham for day five of the Commonwealth Games and they brought Princess Charlotte along to catch some of the action.

Princess Charlotte, seven, sat alongside her mother in a striped dress with a Peter Pan collar to watch the swimming.

The Duchess complemented her daughter in an all-white look: a blazer, top, belt, and high-waist trousers.

In a post on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's official instagram page, the royals thanked the city of Birmingham, the athletes and mascots for "an amazing atmosphere," and an "unforgettable day for all of us."

Included in the post were pictures of the family enjoying their time at the games, including a clip of Princess Charlotte meeting an energetic mascot.

Just last week, Princess Charlotte was involved in supporting another sporting effort as she joined her dad Prince William in a good luck video to the England women's football team, the Lionesses.

In the adorable video, Princess Charlotte signs off a message from Prince William (who is the President of the Football Association) by saying, "Good luck, I hope you win. Bye!" with a sweet wave.

Elsewhere, the Duchess of Cambridge demonstrated her sailing ability by joining the British team to win in a friendly race against New Zealand.
