Bridgerton's Queen Charlotte prequel has found its young Violet Ledger.
According to Deadline, Mr Selfridge and The Take Down actress Connie Jenkins-Greig will feature as the recurring character, played by Ruth Gemmell in Netflix's flagship period drama.
Violet is the "kind and inquisitive" teenager of parents Vivian and Lord Ledger, who take the form of Katie Brayben (The Wheel of Time) and Keir Charles (Death in Paradise) here.
Although this limited spin-off series centres predominantly on the rise of young Charlotte, it'll also explore the early lives of Violet Bridgerton and Lady Agatha Danbury (that's Adjoa Andoh's sharp-witted character).
Producer Shonda Rhimes is penning the origin story, something Andoh herself has admitted she's ecstatic about.
"We're hoping it answers that delicious question that we all have when you meet someone, you kind of think: 'Who are they?' and 'How did they get to be this?'" the star previously said.
"So that's what Shonda thrillingly is going to be sharing with the world. There are no scripts yet, there's no shooting happening yet, but we know it's coming and we're all pretty excited."
Meanwhile, Gemmell went on to hint that Violet's background from the ninth Bridgerton book could be adapted for the screen.
"We don't know, we have no idea to date. I mean, I know as far as the bridges and books are concerned, there's a ninth book and in that there's some information about Violet's history.
"Whether or not [Rhimes] draws on any of that for Violet [I'm not sure] and the others I don't know either. We have nothing. We can't tell you anything, I'm really sorry," she shared.
Bridgerton seasons 1-2 are streaming now on Netflix.
