The Countess and Wessex looked chic in a classic black and white look to attend the Queen's Birthday Parade alongside her husband Prince Edward (the Queen's youngest son), in Gibraltar.

Sophie Wessex opted for a three-quarter length sleeve dress with a square neckline, featuring an abstract black and white print which, if you look closely, resembles trees and horses. The Countess paired the dress with a formal grey hat topped with feathers, while the Earl of Wessex was in full uniform to salute his mother during the Queen's Birthday Parade.

The pair also returned to a school they last visited for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, to open "the new ‘Wessex Campus’ at St Martin’s Special Educational Needs School," explained a post on the Royal Family's social media, adding that the royals, "enjoyed a musical welcome from the students."

The Earl and Countess of Wessex arrived in Gibraltar on Tuesday (7 May) to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, as well as the success of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

Sophie Wessex and Prince Edward were greeted by local school children waving flags and offering flowers.

In one photograph shared to the official Royal Family Twitter page, Sophie Wessex can be seen accepting a bunch of red and white roses. In others, the Earl and Countess crouch to chat to children and are seen waving from a balcony to those who have gathered below to greet them.

A caption alongside the images explained that on the second day of their trip (8 May), the royal couple would be recognising the success of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

According to the International Award’s own Twitter page, the scheme, “challenges young people to find their purpose, passion and place in the world,” much like the Duke of Edinburgh Award in the UK. Prince Philip was said to be proud of the impact of his Award schemes, which continues as his legacy.

While in Gibraltar, Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex will also be meeting locals to celebrate the Queen’s historic Platinum Jubilee year and visiting important charities and organisations.

For the second day of the royal visit, Sophie Wessex wore a vibrant royal blue midi shirt dress with a white belt around the waist. The Countess opted for a pair of navy and white woven wedges to finish her look, offering a nautical feel to her outfit. On day one, on the other hand, she was seen in an all-white look.

Sophie Wessex’s second outfit demonstrates the versatility of a stylish midi shirt dress which can be easily dressed up or down for summer occasions.
