Line of Duty star Martin Compston has addressed the show's uncertain future, admitting that there are "always ideas" floating around.
The BBC police thriller concluded its sixth series a year ago, with the storylines appearing to be wrapped up following the unmasking of corrupt officer H.
Compston, who plays DI Steve Arnott on the show, has now spoken on the possibility of more to come, admitting to the Radio Times: "We're so delighted that after all that time, people still want us."
He went on to tease: "If Jed [Mercurio] thinks there's a story, we'd all love to work together again.
"There's always ideas, but nothing concrete."
Back in April, DS Ian Buckells actor Nigel Boyle spoke about the chances of series 7, admitting he tried to speak to executive producer Simon Heath.
"I was chatting to Simon Heath earlier and I was saying, 'Come on, mate. [What's happening?]' And he was like, 'We'd kind of like to, but we don't know if it's going to happen'," he recalled.
"I said, 'What's the official line?' And he said, 'Well, there isn't one'."
Show boss Mercurio himself said last year that "it's too soon" to determine whether more is in the pipeline.
"It's too soon to draw that conclusion. It could be either of those, or it could be something different," he said.
If there is more, one star that doesn't expect to return immediately is Kelly Macdonald as DCI Joanne Davidson, who recently said: "I don't think my character will be back. I suppose it's a possibility at some point."
Line of Duty series 1-6 are available on BBC iPlayer, and DVD and Blu-ray boxsets are also available to buy now.
