Despite not being the best dancer in the competition, Dan Walker delighted viewers with his routines on Strictly Come Dancing last year.

The former BBC Breakfast star was partnered up with professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova in the star-studded contest and finished in fifth place.

However, this may not be the last we've seen of them as a duo as Walker has hinted they're teaming up for a new project later this year.

What to read next

Chatting to title Digital Spy about his time on the BBC dance show, Walker gave high praise to Bychkova.

"She sort of grabbed me by the hand and said, 'I'll teach you how to dance and if you enjoy it, people will enjoy watching you'," Walker explained, detailing how the pro guided him through his Strictly experience.

The presenter went on to reveal how much fun he had working with Bychkova and hinted they could be teaming up again soon.

"We just laughed every week," Walker enthused. "People kept voting us through, we were never in the bottom two until the quarter-finals, and it was amazing. It was like a surreal experience.

"But I loved the process of learning to dance and when you spend time with somebody who loves dancing as much as she does, it just rubs off on you.

"I hope to continue to dance. We've done some charity stuff and we've got something else coming out later on this year.

"I hope to continue to dance because it was something I never thought I'd get my head round and something I thought I was far beyond me, something other people did.

"Because of her I sort of fell in love with the process of learning dance and I had the best time on that programme. I loved it," he added.

Walker revealed he's even written a chapter about Bychkova in his upcoming book Standing on the Shoulders.

"The book is all about people who help you to see a little bit further than you would on your own and she is a perfect example," he remarked.
