Bake Off: The Professionals, the Great British Bake Off spin-off featuring industry chefs, returned for its latest series tonight (May 24),

Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden were back as judges, while Liam Charles was back to host. But he wasn't joined by Tom Allen, but by The X Factor contestant-turned Loose Women panelist-turned I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! winner-turned Sort Your Life Out presenter Stacey Solomon, to keep things ticking along smoothly.

Stacey's newness to the job made up a lot of her banter with Liam in the episode, with him showing her how to tell the bakers how long they had left with the proper gravitas, asking everyone how to pronounce certain French ingredient names, and her wearing a suit and joking about almost getting her head shaved like Tom in the intro.

She was also shocked by some of Cherish's "harsh" comments, something we think she'll get used to pretty quickly.

Viewers watching along on Twitter thought Stacey slotted in rather nicely on the show:

Our patisserie experts tonight were tasked with creating 36 individual cakes and then creating a gorgeous-yet-tasty sculpture out of treacle tart.

Unfortunately for one pairing, Emanuele & Mariola, just as they were assembling their sugary structure to put the final touches on it, the whole thing cracked and collapsed into dozens of smaller pieces. As they only had five minutes left, they had to serve their tarts on a plate.

They probably felt slightly better when another team, David & Cydrick, had their tower-esque showpiece fall onto the floor, although they managed to re-assemble that one to some degree.

At the end of it all, Emanuele & Mariola were sent home. Despite their culinary accident, they said that they still enjoyed the experience.

Bake Off: The Professionals airs Tuesday nights at 9pm on Channel 4 and All4.
