Lorraine took to Instagram to share updates from the 2022 gala and a few snaps from the red carpet with her 487K fans.

It included a picture with Good Morning Britain's presenter Susanna Reid, that she captioned: "So good to catch up with the wonderful @susannareid100 at the @bafta awards. Bright and beautiful and SO good at her job!"

Lorraine also shared a photo with actor Ncuti Gatwa, who will take over from Jodie Whittaker as the star of Doctor Who.

In the accompanying caption Lorraine said: "It’s ONLY the new Dr Who!! @ncutigatwa - I think this was his reaction at my shameless bid to be his new assistant - such a gorgeous man and he will be FABULOUS"

Although the TV presenter wasn't on the nominee list this year, she presented the award for News Coverage and Specialist Factual.

In true Lorraine style, she made a joke and sent a " special hello" to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, referring to his interview on Good Morning Britain, where he appeared to not know who she is.

She said: "Hello, and a special hello to Boris, I’m Lorraine, lovely to see you."
