Last night's episode of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer (April 5) had an interesting twist to keep viewers thoroughly entertained.
This time, host Matt Lucas chose to don the contestant's apron and get his hands dirty alongside his fellow celebrity guests.
Along with DJ Annie Mac, comedian Ed Gamble and rapper Example, he was tasked to make biscuits, donuts and even a novelty cake.
The first revelation of the evening came when Matt admitted it was his first time baking biscuits ever – a feat, considering he has been hosting Bake Off for the past two years.
However, his "artisan" Arsenal biscuits did earn him the much sought-after handshake from Paul Hollywood.
"His hands felt a bit coarse, like a builder's," Matt noted later on, as Example cheekily attributed the handshake to "nepotism".
And he wasn't completely wrong – judging by Hollywood stepping in earlier to help mold Lucas' dough.
"Paul, darling, if you go on helping Matt, it will be very difficult when he wins," said Prue Leith as she was passing by.
In another hilarious moment, as Noel Fielding announced time was running out for the contestants, Lucas immediately poked fun at him with his own commentary: "Don't be ridiculous."
"Matt, you've got as long as you want," said Fielding.
"Thank you."
However, it was Example who was crowned Star Baker by the judges after dazzling them with his impressive Australian landscape three-layered cake.
The celebrities had been tasked to bake a novelty cake that showcased a job they did before becoming famous. And all of them mostly delivered.
Between Ed's pub cake with him slumped over the pub haunted by the ghost of Paul Hollywood, Annie's elaborate chambermaid bed cake, and Example's landscape one, it had definitely been a tough call for the judges to make.
Luckily, Matt's less-than-impressive couch cake, reminiscent of his baby-sitting days, with a flattened human shape laid on its top, definitely helped matters.
The baby had also been left on the floor, leaving many to wonder about Matt's past capabilities as a babysitter.
In the end, Example went home with the apron, proud to have stepped "out of his comfort zone", while Matt took comfort in the knowledge that he knew where the Star Baker aprons were kept and could "get one anyway".
The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix.
