Princess Anne looked chic in a two-piece tartan trouser suit this weekend to visit a new hospital ship before it sets sail.
The Global Mercy ship is the latest vessel from Mercy Ships, an organisation which “deploys hospital ships to some of the poorest countries in the world, delivering vital, free healthcare to people in desperate need,” as specified on its website.
The Princess Royal met medical staff and volunteers on board to commemorate the launch of the new ship, and photographs of her visit were shared on the official Royal Family Instagram account.
In the images, Princess Anne can be seen meeting with medical staff and maritime personnel on board the vessel, wearing a chic trousers suit in blue and red tartan.
The Princess Royal matched a cravat with the bold red of her asymmetric jacket’s statement buttons, along with red lipstick.
Princess Anne accessorised her look with a gold brooch in the shape of a reef knot, giving a subtle nod to the nautical nature of the Mercy Ships’ important expeditions.
The Princess opted for a similar look during a recent visit to a centre for children and adults with disabilities, wearing a stylish green check coat, and we rounded up some of our favourites from the high street which echo her look.
The Global Mercy is currently in the Netherlands but is soon, “due to set sail to Africa to provide accessible, free surgery and medical care to those in need,” explained a caption alongside the social media post.
It added that Princess Anne, “met the ship’s medical and maritime volunteers, and heard how they will provide healthcare training to local practitioners around the world.”
