Fearne Cotton shares nostalgic 1980s throwback of lookalike mum

Fearne Cotton took to Instagram this weekend (Sunday 20 February) to share a nostalgic throwback photo of her mum from the 1980s.

The resemblance between Fearne and her mum, Lin Cotton, is clear from the photograph in which her lookalike mum holds a glass of bubbly while decked in fabulous 1980s hair, makeup and fashion.

Referencing Lin’s trademark look of the era, Fearne wrote, “Could this photo of Mumma Cotton be any more 80’s? Health hazard of a heater with DRIED FLOWERS on top 😱✔️ Layered hair✔️ Blue eyeliner ✔️,” in a caption alongside the image.

The presenter and author revealed she had crimped her hair like she used to do in the 1980s and joked that recreating the style had caused her a “repetitive strain injury in [her] right hand”.

As well as her nostalgic hairstyle, Fearne wore polka dot socks with ballet shoes and jeans, as well as a Neighbours themed t-shirt from the era.

On the t-shirt, a wedding photo of Kylie Minogue and Jason Donnovan in character can be seen surrounded by a heart with their Neighbours’ names, Scott and Charlene.

As well as her presenting career, Fearne is now an accomplished author focusing on mindfulness and wellness.
