The Grease prequel series is shaping up – and not because it needs a man – with the cast of Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies now confirmed.

The 10-part series for Paramount+ was initially announced back in July of last year, and now six months on, Rise of the Pink Ladies is already preparing for production.

As filming gets underway in Canada, Deadline is reporting on Rydell High's newest students, including Marisa Davila, Cheyenne Isabel Wells and Ari Notartomaso.

Davila is set to play Jane, while Wells will take on the role of Olivia. Notartomaso will play Cynthia, Tricia Fukuhara has been cast as Nancy, Shanel Bailey as Hazel, and Ozark's Madison Thompson as Susan.

Rounding out the cast are Jonathan Nieves as Richie, Jason Schmidt as Buddy, Maxwell Whittington-Cooper as Wally, and Only Murders in the Building's Jackie Hoffman as Assistant Principal McGee.

Written and led by Atypical's Annabel Oakes, Rise of the Pink Ladies will take place four years before the original musical starring Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta.

It's the same Rydell High we all know and love, but in an earlier era, "before rock 'n' roll ruled and the T-Birds were the coolest in the school."

Instead, the series will follow "four fed-up, outcast girls" who "dare to have fun on their own terms, sparking a moral panic that will change Rydell High forever."

Paramount+ boss Nicole Clemens promised "electrifying musical numbers" as well as an "incredible cast" when Rise of the Pink Ladies makes its debut.

"We are thrilled to unveil our new original series that will introduce an incredible cast of young stars in the making and electrifying musical numbers you will fall in love with," she said.

"Annabel and [director Alethea Jones] have managed to brilliantly capture the spirit of the iconic beloved classic film which, like Rise of the Pink Ladies, is both set in the past but relevant to the present."

We've got chills.
