Gogglebox is one step closer to booking Mariah Carey for its next celebrity special. Or at least, that's what we'd like to imagine, as the singer has shared her love for the show.
In a case of two dramatically different worlds colliding, Mariah has sent a surprise message to Sophie and Pete Sandiford after the siblings chatted about her in a recent episode.
While listening to a clip of Mariah singing a Christmas classic in Friday's (December 10) episode, Pete turned to Sophie and said: "You know what it reminds me of, this?
"An American-style Jane McDonald."
Immediately agreeing, Sophie declared: "She is. She's America's Jane."
It seems the pop icon herself is also in agreement, with Mariah replying to the clip after it was shared on Twitter by Gogglebox's official account.
"I'm America's Jane!!!?!??" an incredulous Mariah responded. "Thank you gorgeous!!!"

Meanwhile, in other Gogglebox news, Jenny Newby and Lee Riley were recently forced to deny reports that they were set to leave the Channel 4 series.
Radio 2 presenter Jo Whiley repeated claims that Jenny and Lee would be departing the show after seven years in a broadcast last week, prompting the fan-favourites to swiftly issue a reassuring message to fans.
"Well Jo is totally wrong," the pair clarified on social media, as viewers breathed a collective sigh of relief.
Jo subsequently apologised for the misunderstanding, tweeting: "I am SOOOO sorry!!! I completely thought I'd read you were leaving, I'm sure I did! Maybe I dreamt it," adding that she was "really happy to hear" they were staying.
Gogglebox airs on Friday nights at 9pm on Channel 4.
