Harry Potter's Tom Felton says he doesn't really get recognised

Tom Felton, best known for playing Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter series, has revealed that he doesn't get recognised for the iconic character when he's out and about.

Speaking to in an interview taking place on Hampstead Heath, Felton dismissed the interviewer's concerns about the location being too public as "he rarely gets recognised in public these days".

But, speaking on the balance struck between being a celebrity and a normal person, he said: "I get the best of both worlds. I take the Tube, I take the bus, I walk my dog in the park. I saw Emma [Watson] the other night – she looks exactly the same as she did ten years ago. It's almost impossible for her not to be spotted. I get a lot of people whispering, 'Is that whatshisname?'"

Apparently, many people will sort of know who he is but aren't 100% sure, particularly as he looks quite different to his Malfoy days. Felton referred to it as "familiar eyes syndrome".

Felton is very popular online however, having 11.1 million followers on Instagram and 9.4 million followers on TikTok.

Though we may not be catching Felton on the high street, we will see him in HBO Max's 20th anniversary special for Harry Potter, alongside various other wizarding alums.

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Evanna Lynch, Mark Williams, James and Oliver Phelps, Bonnie Wright, Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staunton, and Matthew Lewis, are all going to be attending the reunion special, which was shot at the Warner Bros Studio Tour.

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will premiere on January 1, 2022 on HBO Max. In the UK, it will air on Sky and NOW.
