Strictly Come Dancing pro shares sweet tribute to Ugo Monye

Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse has paid tribute to her celebrity partner Ugo Monye following their exit from the competition.

The fourth elimination of this series, Oti and ex-rugby union player Ugo lost out to Rhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu in the dance-off at the weekend, but left with their heads held high.

Posting a video from behind the scenes on Instagram, two-time Strictly champ Oti wrote: "Going out feeling super grateful x @ugomonye you're a legend [blue heart emoji] thank you to all who supported us."

In the clip itself, Ugo told their fanbase: "Our journey on Strictly is over unfortunately for the two of us. We haven't quite made it to Halloween Week, but Oti, thank you so much – thank you!

"I think for me, all I wanted to do was: whatever my potential was, get to it, and considering who's left, I think I've absolutely reached the peak of my potential," he laughed.

"But it's just been an amazing journey."

Hugging him, she responded: "Thank you, I adore you. You've taught me something: you've taught me to have fun and enjoy every moment," before thanking the voting public for their consistent support.

Some of their fellow Strictly stars showed their appreciation for the pair in the comments section too.

Judi Love, who was forced to miss this weekend's show due to COVID-19, wrote: "Both so amazing love you both xx, "and host Tess Daly added: "You will be missed."

Oti's professional dancer co-stars were also sad to see them go, as Nancy wrote: "love you two," and Amy Dowden said: "Love you amazing job, great performances both."
