The Great British Bake Off's German Week spoilers follow.

This week's Great British Bake Off eliminated star Freya Cox has said goodbye to viewers with a challenge to fans to go vegan.

Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith challenged bakers to celebrate all things German this week, and while many flew high with their Teutonic creations, vegan baker Freya's Upside Down Cake just couldn't bring her past the finish line.

While it was very sad to see Freya go, she looked back on the happier times in a beautifully-written goodbye letter to both the Bake Off cast and viewers.

"This was, by far, the best experience of my life," she wrote. "I never imagined to meet so many incredible people in such a short amount of time."

Freya also wrote that she feels "blessed" to have shown the world her approach to vegan baking through her four weeks in the tent.

"If I have inspired just one person to give being vegan a go, that is more of a success to me than winning any day of the week," she noted.

"It's not that much of a faff, I promise!"

Giuseppe Dell'Anno from Bristol had a much better week, as his classic Bethmännchen and Italian Linzer Augen biscuits and Amarena Cherry Cake earned him the Star Baker achievement for German Week.

The remaining bakers have another chance to prove their skills to Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith next Tuesday night when it is Pastry Week in the tent.

Good luck, bakers!

The Great British Bake Off airs on Tuesdays at 8pm Channel 4 in the UK, and Bake Off: An Extra Slice airs on Fridays at 8pm on Channel 4. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix.
