Strictly star reveals additional challenge she faces in ballroom

Strictly Come Dancing's Rose Ayling-Ellis has opened up about the unexpected challenge she faces whenever she and Giovanni Pernice are tasked with performing a ballroom routine.

While appearing on Monday evening's episode of It Takes Two (October 4), the EastEnders actor and her professional partner were asked by host Rylan Clark-Neal to tease what's in store for them in Saturday night's show.

After revealing that their foxtrot is inspired by Titanic, Giovanni chimed in, promising something with a "completely different vibe to the salsa and jive" they've done together previously.

"I'm looking forward to it," added Rose, who is Strictly's first deaf contestant. "It'll be nice to see a different side of me... a bit more elegant, hopefully.

"The posture is really difficult because you have to really stay in your posture. I've got that right but I can't keep it... but I'm sure, with practice, I'll be able to do it."

"The other thing we're struggling with at the moment is, obviously, the past two dances we did, [Rose] can read my lips, when I'm explaining everything I'm doing," Giovanni explained. "But in the ballroom, you can't really do it because of the hold... you have to stay away from each other."

"We've had to make a rule," Rose interjected, discussing their rehearsal process. "He said, 'You look away, you don't look at me until I stop you. So my aim is to do the dance without being stopped. If I'm stopped, I'm not doing it right and we need to do it again and again."
