Bridgerton heartthrob Regé-Jean Page has signed on to a new heist movie, written and directed by Fargo's Noah Hawley.
The currently untitled project is being produced by the Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe, who are strongholds of the team behind the MCU, having directed the latter two Captain America movies (The Winter Soldier and Civil War) and the latter two Avengers movies (Infinity War and Endgame).
They have teamed up with longtime collaborator Mike Larocca to produce the movie for the Russos' production company AGBO.
"AGBO was originally founded to allow us to collaborate with artists we greatly respect and admire," AGBO's Mike Larocca said in a statement. "We are very happy to continue to fulfill that pledge by supporting this new film from Noah Hawley and Regé-Jean Page."
AGBO also recently wrapped on The Gray Man, an action thriller about a CIA operative who becomes a fugitive, which also stars Regé-Jean Page alongside Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans and Billy Bob Thornton. Joe Russo co-wrote the screenplay, and it's reportedly planned to spawn a new franchise.
Hawley, who also wrote and directed Marvel and FX series Legion, has written an original heist screenplay for the project, but the plot details and potential release date are being kept under wraps for now.
Regé-Jean Page was catapulted into superstardom in Netflix regency period drama Bridgerton, playing the Duke of Hastings, for which he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy award.
He will not be returning for its upcoming second season, despite the outcry of fans. He even turned down the offer to return as a guest star in season two and has removed himself from the cast WhatsApp group.
However, season two is still plowing ahead, with Jonathan Bailey taking the lead in the upcoming season as Anthony Bridgerton, the eldest brother of the family.
Producer extraordinaire Shonda Rhimes has revealed seasons three and four are already in the works, and a prequel spin-off has also been announced.
Bridgerton season 1 is now available to watch on Netflix. Season 2 is in production.
